Last Saturday, one of my favorite Pound 4 Pound fighters; Sergio Martinez had an awesome fight which he successfully defended his WBC “emeritus” middleweight  title with a eighth round TKO over the previous undefeated WBO  Junior Middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

There is another reason why I love Sergio Martinez: He recently teamed up with “The Trevor Project” -It get’s better project.THE PLEDGE: Everyone deserves to be respected for who they are. I pledge to spread this message to my friends, family and neighbors. I’ll speak up against hate and intolerance whenever I see it, at school and at work. I’ll provide hope for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and other bullied teens by letting them know that “It Gets Better.”

I have even more respect for Sergio Martinez for even getting involved and telling his story.It touches my heart. He’s a prime example of a “world class fighter”. You can see it in his eyes as he speaks to the world-his struggle,his pain,his passion, every word is authentic.He’s a great role model to many children especially the children who don’t believe in themselves and are not in the right direction. He’s telling the children “It Gets Better” The Message of Hope for all who is suffering.
